Volunteer Appreciation Week kicks off next week on April 10th! Kids Eat Smart Foundation NL certainly knows the importance of our more than 6100 volunteers in the Province. We would not be able to operate our KES Clubs without them. They help purchase food, prepare meals, and organize clubs and serve more than 23,000 meals to school aged children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
This year we have partnered with Egg Farmers Newfoundland and Labrador and sent all schools a token of appreciation for our 6100 volunteers. We ask all of our KES Clubs to show their appreciation to our volunteers next week by hosting “Thank You” events for your special volunteers. Here are some ideas for your KES Club volunteers:
- Host a Thank You tea for your volunteers
- Host a Thank You breakfast for your volunteers
- Host a Thank You lunch for your volunteers
- Host a Thank You assembly at your school to show appreciation to your volunteers
- Have students prepare cards in appreciation for your KES Club volunteers
The options are endless – even just the personal thank you from principals, teachers and students can make a big difference to volunteers in our KES Clubs. Be sure to show your appreciation next week!
On behalf of all of our children and The Kids Eat Smart Foundation board and staff we certainly want to extend our sincerest “Thank You” to all of our KES Club Volunteers!

If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer with a KES Club in your community please contact your local school or community center that has a KES Club. It’s a very rewarding experience and you will make a difference every day!
