Local farmers volunteered their time to visit a Kids Eat Smart Club in their area, helping to serve a nutritional breakfast using local produce such as blueberries, raspberries, eggs, and milk.

  • The Federation of Agriculture, through their partner, Growing Forward, provided each club with blueberries, raspberries, or eggs.
  • Milk was available to each student, provided by the School Milk Foundation and their partners.

The Federation of Agriculture partners with the Government of Canada, Growing Forward, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The School Milk Foundation is sponsored by Dairy Farmers of Newfoundland and Labrador, Scotsburn, Central Dairies, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

In addition, students were rooting for health by planting tomato or pepper seeds with grow sticks provided by the Kids Eat Smart Foundation and pots provided by Murray’s Garden Centre and Horticultural Services.
