Kids Eat Smart Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador is a charitable organization that supports the education, health, and well-being of school children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador through support of quality nutrition programs.
The goal is to provide children with the nutrition they need to learn, to grow, and to be their best.
Kids Eat Smart Foundation offers a variety of supports to communities who operate, or who wish to operate nutrition programs with an academic component. Programs are run by volunteers, and operate most often at schools, but the Foundation also supports community centres with breakfast and/or homework.These programs are known as Kids Eat Smart Clubs
Supports include:

Financial support (start-up, sustaining and matching grants)
- Program support (Best Practices training, nutrition education, menu-planning, organizational structure, etc.)

Volunteer support (volunteer recognition items) and other supports to programs.
At the end of 2009, the Foundation supported
- 200 Kids Eat Smart Clubs (breakfast, lunch, or snack programs)
- Approximately 18,000 children
- More than 5000 volunteers
Kids Eat Smart Foundation supports clubs in each of the five school districts in the province, providing over 52,000 students with access to nutritional programs. In addition, the foundation supports the IODE Snack Program in Labrador.
